How To Remove Vinyl Flooring

Introduction

Vinyl flooring dubai is made of polyvinyl chloride synthetic materials and has the following properties: it is environmentally friendly, inexpensive, anti-bacterial, anti-mildew, comes in a range of colors and finishes, has cushioning support, thermal and acoustic insulators, resistance, and is easy to clean. Because of these properties, commercial vinyl flooring is widely used in practically every industry. However, how to efficiently remove the floor is an issue that many customers are concerned about. Read on to learn how to remove vinyl flooring by yourself.

1. Tools and Materials.

Tools required: work gloves, hammer, pry bar, trim puller, floor scraper, knife, and heat gun.

2. Begin removing.

Step 1: Assess the Flooring

Measure the area of the site where a new vinyl floor is to be installed.

Step 2: Clear the space.

The most important step in removing the vinyl flooring is clearing the space. Put on your work gloves and remove all of the furniture from the room to ensure unhindered access.

Step 3: Remove baseboards and transitions.

Baseboards typically cover the margins of the flooring. To remove the vinyl flooring, start by removing the baseboards with a hammer and trim puller (or pry bar).

Step 4: Start in the middle.

Use the knife to cut out any shape of corner or vertical strips of the same width from the floor. Typically, the middle of the vinyl flooring is not completely glued down, making it easier to remove vinyl planks or tiles from the center. Pull up a corner of vinyl flooring first, then scroll back. If the adhesive is resistant to removal, put a scraper under it.

Step 5: Remove adhesives and residue.

After removing the vinyl flooring, some glue remains on the subfloor. Spread a warm water and soap mixture evenly on the glue, soak it to soften it, and then remove it with a floor scraper. If this procedure does not work, hold the heat gun on the glue until it softens before removing it.

Step 6. Clean the area.

To finish removing the Vinyl Flooring, use a vacuum or broom to remove the remaining dirt and debris.

Tips: ● Use a heat gun with caution, keep it away from flammable objects, and wear gloves. ● For larger areas, a floor scraper machine may be more efficient.
